WACOM INTUOS PEN TABLET IN MY HANDS RIGHT NOW

So, yesterday, something incredibly magical happened.

I went to the mail box…and I found out… THAT I HAD JUST RECEIVED A WACOM INTUOS PEN TABLET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MIND. EXPLOSION.

I ran around my living room, out of breath, screaming incoherent words because I don’t think I understood how to process this.

So of course, I can barely keep my shit together trying to connect that bad boy to my desktop. This is something I made on MS Paint using the tab and pen:

I was so excited, I think I did like fifty MS Paint doodles. I don’t feel that I should post 50 pictures…because, well, that just seems really unnecessary. I did have fun coloring things in with the pen, it makes drawing and shading much faster than with my mouse. Doge approves.

But, because I was clearly too high on tablet excitement, I didn’t read much of anything in the box it came with. In fact, this morning, while I was experimenting with it again I decided to take a second look at the contents of the box.

Turns out, you get free program downloads if you register your product…

So, now, I have no idea what the fuuuuuuuuuuck I’m going to do!

Like, this is all so much to process. I don’t even know how to use any programs besides MS Paint.

This is the first thing I made on ArtRage…SWEET FIERY SONS OF NEPTUNE, I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO MAKE.

THE POSSIBILITIES – OMG!

this program is called Autodesk Sketchbook Express – I like it a lot for shading in colors :3

KOSMONAT, I DON’T DESERVE ANY OF YOUR LOVE, YOU ARE MORE RADIANT THAN FIFTY SUNS, THANK YOU FOREVER AND EVER <3

The only problem now is that my crappy old computer can’t handle the program…

Son of a bitch.

    • GIRRRRRRRRRRRRL, I am having so much fun with this, I think if you’re an actual artist you should def consider jumping on this bandwagon. I’m by no means a pro at drawing but this makes me feel like I’m drawing concept art for Pixar or something relevant, LOL! Thank you babe <3 I look forward to even the idea of being honored by your artistic graces!

  4. This looks exciting! What are those programs like? Are they similar to paint or?

    • The first one I tried was Art Rage and I showed you with skype share screen :3 Its pretty cool, but I don’t know that I’d use all the features. The second one I like more for shading/coloring – its more like MS paint too – its called autodesk sketchbook express :D

  12. I am having a very hard time using mine. I didn’t expect to have a problem with it … but me and it are so not compatible. I can never figure out how to get the line where I want it and spend more time erasing than drawing. I’m glad YOU are doing so well. Drop by and teach ME how to use it! Please?

    • Oh man, well, I’m not sure which version of tablet you have but I know I read that the higher end tablets have more options so maybe they’re more difficult to use.
This one is the pen tablet, so its super easy cause its the most basic intuos.
I hate to give the suggestion of using it like a pen and paper, cause that’s super obvious, lol. What program are you using?

  14. OMG I love your pen tablet, now I have to figure out how to get one.

    • Probably everywhere, searching is half the fun, amirite? Mines specifically was a gift though…D: so I don’t know the price…but I believe it came from Amazon!

      • The basic one looks like about 80, that’s totally doable. So you have no problem doing stuff on it, right? I would think that it would be kind of tough figuring out where to put the pen because you can’t see what you’re drawing on it (which probably sounds like a completely uninformed concern because it is.) But you seem to do okay with it. :)

        • Well man, I’ve been using my mouse for drawings lol and I couldn’t see what I was drawing with the mouse either – it all goes down on the screen. So having a pen in my hand took like a few minutes to get used to. Everything flows really well, the tablet is calibrated accurately and you can even change the size of the sensitivity area if you really want to. The higher end models look like they have pens that would even give you pressure sensitivity and eraser end capabilities (and from what I’ve read they also come with more programs). I’m going out on a limb here and foretelling that you probably won’t have any issues.
